Gamay

Gamay is a light-bodied, fruit-forward red grape variety most famously associated with the Beaujolais region of France, where it thrives on granite and schist soils. Known for producing wines of exceptional freshness and drinkability, Gamay offers vibrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, and violet, complemented by subtle notes of white pepper and earthy minerality.

While often associated with the easy-drinking Beaujolais Nouveau, Gamay reaches its greatest expression in the ten Beaujolais crus—including Morgon, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, and Juliénas—where old vines and traditional winemaking produce wines of remarkable depth, structure, and aging potential.

Gamay wines are characterized by their silky tannins, bright acidity, and food-friendly versatility. They pair beautifully with charcuterie, roasted poultry, grilled salmon, and soft cheeses. Best served slightly chilled at 55-60°F, Gamay offers an approachable yet sophisticated drinking experience that bridges the gap between casual and fine win
