Château Pradeaux Bandol Rouge 2020
From one of Bandol's most storied estates, the 2020 Château Pradeaux Bandol Rouge is a benchmark expression of Mourvèdre from the sun-drenched limestone terraces of Provence. Farmed biodynamically and aged for an extended period in large foudres, this wine demands patience — and rewards it generously.
Deep garnet in the glass, it opens with brooding aromas of black olive, garrigue, dried lavender, and iron-tinged earth. On the palate, concentrated dark fruit — blackberry, black cherry, and plum — is framed by firm, structured tannins and a saline, mineral backbone that is unmistakably Bandol. The finish is long, persistent, and layered with dried herbs and a whisper of smoked meat.
A wine built for the cellar, it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 10–20 years. Decant generously if opening now.
