The Salus Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is the estate-grown second label of Staglin Family Vineyard, offering an accessible entry point into the world-class terroir of the Rutherford Bench without compromising on quality or character. Named after the Roman goddess of health and well-being — a nod to the Staglin family's deep commitment to mental health philanthropy — Salus is a wine with both purpose and pedigree.
Sourced from Staglin's certified organic estate vineyards in Rutherford, the 2022 vintage benefited from a mild, extended growing season with excellent diurnal temperature variation, yielding grapes of exceptional balance and concentration. Vinified with the same meticulous care as the flagship Staglin Estate Cabernet, Salus delivers remarkable depth and approachability for its tier.
Deep ruby in the glass. The nose is inviting and expressive — blackcurrant, ripe plum, dark cherry, a touch of mocha, and subtle cedar. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied with smooth, well-integrated tannins, a generous mid-palate, and a clean, fruit-forward finish with lingering spice. Approachable now, with the structure to develop further over 5–8 years.
