The Staglin Family Vineyard 40th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is a landmark release commemorating four decades of visionary winegrowing on one of Rutherford's most celebrated single estates. Since Shari and Garen Staglin planted their first vines in 1985, the estate has become synonymous with benchmark Napa Valley Cabernet — wines of extraordinary depth, precision, and age-worthiness.
The 2022 vintage in Napa Valley delivered near-ideal growing conditions: a mild, extended growing season with excellent diurnal temperature variation that preserved natural acidity and allowed for exceptional phenolic development. From the estate's organically farmed, head-trained vines on the Rutherford Bench, this 40th Anniversary bottling represents the very best of what Staglin's terroir can produce.
Deep, opaque ruby in the glass. The nose is commanding and layered — blackcurrant, dark cherry, crushed violet, graphite, cedar, and a whisper of tobacco leaf. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with Staglin's signature silky tannins, a rich and concentrated mid-palate, and a finish of remarkable length and precision. A wine built for decades of cellaring, yet already showing the hallmarks of greatness.
