Born from South Africa's most distinctive grape variety and named in honour of the nation's most beloved culinary tradition, the Braai Pinotage 2022 is a wine made for the fire. Pinotage — a uniquely South African cross of Pinot Noir and Cinsault — finds its most natural expression alongside the smoky, char-kissed flavours of an open flame, and this bottling leans into that relationship with confidence and character.
Deep ruby in the glass with a violet rim, the 2022 vintage opens with a generous nose of ripe dark plum, blackberry, and smoked meat, underscored by notes of mocha, dark chocolate, and a hint of earthy spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and warming, with velvety tannins, a touch of oak-derived vanilla, and a long, satisfying finish. A wine that rewards those who gather around the fire.
