Product Info
Classic Barolo from a historic Piedmont estate.
The 2021 Damilano Lecinquevigne Barolo represents the essence of traditional Barolo winemaking from one of the region's most respected family estates. Founded in 1890, Damilano has been crafting wines in the heart of Barolo for over a century. 'Lecinquevigne' (The Five Vineyards) is a blend sourced from five distinct crus across the Barolo appellation, creating a wine that captures the complexity and elegance of Nebbiolo.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Brilliant garnet with orange highlights at the rim
- Nose: Intense aromas of red cherry, rose petal, and dried herbs, layered with notes of tar, leather, tobacco, and subtle spice. Hints of violet, licorice, and earthy truffle add complexity
- Palate: Full-bodied with firm yet refined tannins and vibrant acidity. Flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, and pomegranate are complemented by nuances of tea leaf, dried flowers, and balsamic notes. The wine shows classic Barolo structure with elegance and depth
- Finish: Long and persistent with lingering notes of red fruit, spice, and a distinctive mineral character reflecting the calcareous soils of Barolo
The Five Vineyards & Winemaking:
This wine is a blend from five prestigious vineyard sites across the Barolo zone, each contributing unique characteristics—structure, aromatics, elegance, and complexity. Vinified using traditional methods with extended maceration and aged in large Slavonian oak casks, the wine balances power with finesse in the classic Barolo style.
Perfect Pairings: Braised beef in Barolo, truffle risotto, aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, roasted game, or rich mushroom dishes.
Enjoy now with decanting or cellar for 10-20 years to experience its full evolution.
