Product Info
The Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is the pinnacle expression from one of Oakville's most storied family estates. Since Dennis and Judy Groth established their vineyard in 1981, the Reserve has stood as a benchmark for Napa Valley Cabernet — a wine that first captured the world's attention when it earned a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker in the late 1980s, a legacy that continues to define the estate's ambition.
Sourced exclusively from the oldest, most expressive blocks of Groth's Oakville estate, the 2022 Reserve benefits from a near-ideal growing season: a mild spring, warm summer days tempered by cool afternoon breezes off San Pablo Bay, and a dry, extended harvest that allowed for exceptional phenolic ripeness without sacrificing freshness.
Deep ruby-garnet in the glass. The nose is classic Oakville — blackcurrant, dark plum, cassis, crushed violet, cedar box, and a refined mineral undercurrent. On the palate, it is full-bodied and impeccably structured, with Groth's signature firm yet polished tannins, a concentrated and layered mid-palate, and a long, cedar-spiced finish. A wine that rewards patience and will cellar beautifully for 20+ years.
