Heitz Cellar is one of Napa Valley's founding estates — a name synonymous with the region's emergence as a world-class wine destination. The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the house's classic expression: a wine that honors decades of tradition while reflecting the character of the 2021 vintage, a year marked by moderate temperatures and exceptional fruit concentration following careful canopy management through a challenging growing season.
Deep ruby in the glass, the nose offers classic Heitz hallmarks — blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum are framed by the estate's signature eucalyptus and mint note, alongside cedar, leather, and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm yet approachable tannins and a balanced acidity that gives it both presence and grace. Since Joe Heitz planted his first vines in 1961, the estate has remained family-owned and uncompromisingly focused on Cabernet Sauvignon as Napa's noble variety.
