One of Tuscany's most celebrated single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignons, the Isole e Olena Collezione Privata Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a benchmark expression from the heart of Chianti Classico. Produced by Paolo De Marchi at the historic Isole e Olena estate in Barberino Val d'Elsa, this wine has long stood apart from the Sangiovese-dominated landscape of the region — a testament to De Marchi's conviction that Cabernet Sauvignon could find a singular voice in Tuscan soils.
The 2020 vintage delivers a wine of remarkable depth and precision. Expect a deep garnet core with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, dried herbs, and a whisper of graphite. On the palate, the wine is structured yet refined — ripe tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish that speaks unmistakably of its terroir. Classified as IGT Toscana, it sits outside the Chianti Classico DOCG by design, allowing De Marchi full creative latitude.
