Napanook is the second wine of Dominus Estate — Christian Moueix's celebrated Napa Valley project — and a wine of remarkable pedigree in its own right. Named for the historic Napanook Vineyard in Yountville, one of the oldest continuously farmed vineyards in Napa Valley, the 2023 vintage is a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend that channels the elegance and restraint of its Pomerol-trained winemaker.
The nose is refined and layered: dark plum, blackberry, and black olive are interwoven with notes of graphite, dried herbs, and a whisper of violet. On the palate, the wine is medium-full bodied with supple, well-structured tannins and a freshness that belies its richness. Flavors of cassis, dark cherry, and subtle earth unfold through a long, composed finish with just a touch of mocha and cedar.
