    From the rolling hills surrounding Siena in the heart of Tuscany, Panizzi — best known for its benchmark Vernaccia di San Gimignano — turns its meticulous hand to Sangiovese with this elegant Chianti Colli Senesi. The Colli Senesi subzone, with its gentle clay and limestone hillsides, produces Chianti of notable finesse and aromatic complexity. The 2022 vintage brought warm, dry conditions ideal for Sangiovese, yielding wines of concentrated fruit, vibrant acidity, and the classic Tuscan structure that makes this grape so compelling at the table.

    Tasting Notes:

    • Appearance: Bright ruby-red with garnet highlights and excellent clarity
    • Nose: Fragrant and expressive, with aromas of ripe sour cherry, red plum, dried violet, and fresh herbs, layered with hints of leather, tobacco, and a subtle earthy minerality
    • Palate: Medium-bodied with lively acidity, firm yet polished tannins, and flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, dried tomato, and a touch of baking spice
    • Finish: Clean and persistent, with a characteristic Sangiovese tartness and a lingering savory, mineral note

    Terroir & Winemaking:

    Sourced from Sangiovese vines grown on the clay-limestone soils of the Colli Senesi hills, where the elevation and proximity to Siena create a cooler microclimate that preserves natural acidity and aromatic lift. Aged in a combination of Slavonian oak and stainless steel to maintain freshness while adding subtle complexity.

    Drinking Window: Enjoy now through 2029. Decant briefly if drinking young. Serve at 62–65°F.

    Perfect Pairings: Bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar ragù, ribollita, aged pecorino Toscano, or classic Tuscan pasta with meat sauce.
