Tenute Silvio Nardi’s Brunello di Montalcino is a wine of profound Tuscan character — born from Sangiovese Grosso vines grown on the estate’s historic holdings in Montalcino, one of Italy’s most revered appellations and the source of some of the world’s greatest age-worthy red wines. The 2020 vintage is widely regarded as exceptional in Montalcino — a warm, dry year that produced wines of extraordinary concentration, structure, and longevity.
Deep garnet with brick-tinged highlights, the nose is complex and layered: dried cherry, wild strawberry, and pomegranate are interwoven with notes of dried rose, tobacco, leather, iron, and the characteristic Sangiovese earthiness that defines great Brunello. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and commanding, with the firm, grippy tannins and soaring acidity that are the hallmarks of the appellation — a structure built for decades of cellaring, yet already showing remarkable beauty and composure.
Founded in 1950, Tenute Silvio Nardi is one of Montalcino’s pioneering estates, farming over 80 hectares across two distinct terroirs that together capture the breadth and complexity of the appellation. This is Brunello at its most authentic — uncompromising, age-worthy, and deeply expressive of place. Decant generously now, or cellar through 2035 and beyond. Pair with wild boar, braised beef, aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, or white truffle.
